Her Voice...
For
those who don't know yet the outstanding angelical voice of Ofra or who know
only the classic "Im Nin'alu", here is your chance to check out
a selection ranging from her first solo album until her last work (1978 -
2000). This page certainly doesn't aim to be an audio library but a chance
to give you an opportunity to discover a few genres Ofra has embraced, over
the years.
But most of all, and this is the main purpose, an opportunity to dwelve into this emotional journey I am talking about along these pages. Be patient, let the music load (mp3) and discover or discover again this unique voice. As Ofra used to say when she talked about people or things that touched deep down her soul: "it warms my heart".
As to why Ofra has a unique voice, this says it all: "Her voice has been described as mezzo-soprano, of near-flawless tonal quality, capable of lending itself to a variety of musical styles with apparent ease. It is thought likely that Haza's voice had the most upper harmonic overtones of any singer in history, reaching as many as 32 on some songs, such as "Love Song" from the album Shaday (1988)" (source: Wikipedia)
On the tech' side: audio are in format mp3. The video is in format mp4, hence, you might need to get quicktime (check it out on www.apple.com)
